BREAKING: Bonilla and Torres Qualify for State Tournament

Congratulations to Coach Nordgren and the wrestling program! Josue Bonilla and Christian Torres both punched a ticket into the AIA wrestling state championship tournament after their sectional performances this weekend. 

Bonilla and Torres will join sectional champion, Jessence Octavio-Callejo in pursuit of state championships in their respective weight classes and divisions.  Stay tuned for on-going coverage Thursday-Saturday this week from Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix!

The Rio Rico High School Culinary Arts program proudly catered the Santa Cruz County Spelling Bee event, providing a professional dining experience for attendees. Student Luke Faley played an important role by assisting with the sound system to ensure the event ran smoothly. Opportunities like this allow students to apply their classroom learning in real-world settings. CTE students are always participating in workplace experiences as part of their hands-on training.

Rio Rico High School students are proudly promoting CTE Month through a variety of engaging activities that highlight the impact of Career and Technical Education programs. CTE provides hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for real-world careers and postsecondary opportunities. Students also have the opportunity to participate in Career and Technical Student Organizations, earn industry-recognized credentials, and most importantly, demonstrate their knowledge and skills in meaningful ways. Special thanks to all our dedicated CTE teachers for their commitment.

Rio Rico High School Career & Technical Education Department continue to promote CTE Month by highlighting the value and positive impact to all students. This initiative raises awareness of our Student Organizations, diverse CTE programs, and the industry-recognized certifications students can earn through CTE courses.

The Engineering Student Organization participated in a community service project to help clean the Santa Cruz River. Students worked together to remove trash and debris, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.

RRHS Law and Public Safety students are actively training for the upcoming AZ SkillsUSA competition. Through hands-on scenarios, students are learning how to deescalate a suicidal suspect, conduct a traffic stops, and effectively handle shoplifting situations . Special thanks to Officer Mesta (Retired) for his invaluable mentorship and commitment to student learning. As we celebrate February as CTE Month, we proudly recognize the dedication of our students.
