Through every challenge and achievement, his guidance has made a lasting difference throughout the county. Congratulations to Daniel Woodburn, who was recognized at last night's Governing Board Meeting for receiving the highest ACT score at Rio Rico High School since 2021, when the ACT was adopted as its State Benchmark. 👏📚 This achievement is no easy feat, and truly demonstrates Daniel's commitment to learning, dedication to his studies, and the hard work he puts into school. The future is looking bright! 🌟 Daniel is a great example of how our students are always going #AboveTheBar! 📝

After 16.5 years of dedicated service to the students, staff, and families of Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35, Mrs. Susan Faubion is retiring from the Governing Board. Her leadership, vision, and commitment to education have helped shape the future of our schools and community. Thank you, Mrs. Faubion, for your lasting contributions!

We are happy to announce that all repairs and cleaning efforts at the SCV35 Aquatic Center have concluded successfully. The pool will re-open for lap swimming, swim lessons, and open swim beginning tomorrow, June 19, 2025. Earlier this week, Superintendent Verdugo and our Governing Board Members recognized Mountain View Elementary School Principal, Mr. Dominic Armijo, on his selection as the Arizona School Administrators' Elementary Rookie Principal of the Year. Principal Armijo has demonstrated exceptional leadership during his two years in his role, fostering a positive school culture and significantly improving student achievement.
