FIRST THINGS FIRST: The first five years of a child's life shape everything that comes next: school, health and lifelong success. For nearly 20 years, First Things First (FTF) has been working to ensure every child in Arizona has the strong start they deserve. Now we're planning for the next chapter, and we want to hear from you! We're seeking public comments on our next Strategic Plan, the roadmap for programs and services beginning in 2027. COMMUNITY TREE SURVEY: Santa Cruz County, in partnership with the University of Arizona and the Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District #35, is launching a community tree planting initiative in Rio Rico. With support from the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, this project will bring 300-500 new trees to the West Frontage Road corridor. The goal is to enhance environmental health, provide shade, and support long-term sustainability in the region. LAP SWIMMING SURVEY: This form will be used to gauge how much of an interest our community has in lap swimming at the SCV35 Aquatic Center. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to promote health, wellness, and recreational activities for our students, staff, and community members.
