In 2019, voters elected to pass a $22.5 million dollar bond for facility improvements and additions.  Bonds will be sold in phases to support the different phases of construction and enhancements.  Below you will find progress photos of the projects.   We are excited to grow and enhance our facilities for our students and community. 

Calabasas and Mountain View received new and upgraded playgrounds.  Parking lot improvements were made district wide at Rio Rico High School, District Office, RRHS Athletic Stadium, Transportation, Calabasas, Coatimundi and San Cayetano.

The cafeteria facility was expanded and updated. Until the bond upgrade, the cafetorium was a dual space for the theatre and cafeteria. With expansion, the theatre was relocated, the cafeteria was expanded with new food stations and the stage was transformed to add more seating.

Additional classrooms were added to Rio Rico High School

The new media center includes the RRHS Bookstore, classrooms, and other meeting and conference style rooms.

The new complex has a ticket booth, hallway entrance, stadium seating, and classrooms for stage crafts, sewing, and more to accomodate the growing department.

The new sports complex includes many additions and upgrades.

• Dugouts and batting cages 

• New bleachers

• Football field with synthetic grass

• New all weather synthetic 8 lane track

• Enhanced practice field with grass, goal posts, shotput, discuss and javelin areas

• 6 tennis courts

• New Fencing

• CTE Field House which will include classrooms, weight rooms and locker rooms

• New running path around the coplex

• Lighting for fields

Student athletes will work become stronger, faster and more explosive while building a culture based on commitment, effort, discipline, toughness and pride!
