The Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35 Governing Board has called for a bond and override election on November 5, 2019.
This is an all mail-in election. We will use the bond program of $22.5 million to fund construction, renovations, and upgrades such as buses, k–12 technology expansion, fine arts building enhancements, pool and kiddie pool, five tennis courts, stadium upgrades, new track, lighting, and security features. (A full list of proposed projects is available on the side bar and is listed by school site.)
In addition, Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35 is seeking an increase of the existing 7% override to 9% which would maintain funding for programs currently serving Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35 students such art, early education, band, library, media, athletics, full day kindergarten, as well as fund new expenses as a result of the bond such as utilities, and staffing for new programs. (More information regarding override funds is available on the side bar.)
